The Aurora Mk2 turntable in our showroom is fitted with the OL1 structural upgrade tonearm. You have a wide choices should you desire a higher performing Origin Live tonearm and/or from other makers using Rega geometry. Other upgradeable parts include - platter, power supply, transformer and adding a Performance platter mat.
Handsome, modern styling in mirror finish black.
Smooth curves in a highly rigid sub-chassis exhibiting low resonance due to its unique, center-point support arrangement.
The structural upgrade to the OL1 arm (Rega-derived) is far more significant. The upgrade entails reconstructing the rear end of the Rega arm on which the counter weight is attached. This is an extremely critical area, as the counterweight represents by far the highest moving mass in the arm and affects tonearm performance more than can be imagined.
The AuroraMk2 motor is upsized providing improved stability and accuracy. DC motor is quieter than AC ones and this ironless DC motor design is free of 'cogging' effect. A clear demonstration of Origin Live’s commitment to superior design and sound quality.
Old hand would immediately notice that a turntable with minute-speed adjustment (33/45 rpm) is very hard to come by at this price point. If you’ve done some research you would find such a feature is usually an add-on component even for turntables many times higher.
