Since our last feature of Blue Starfish’s system some 2 years ago, slowly but surely, he has pushed his analogue centric system’s performance to the next level.
Besides moving to a bigger premise (hi-fi room wise), several essential equipment were upgraded.

A top notch turntable is paired off with a world class phono stage. whest MC REF V - a true 2-box mono channel design, replaced the ASR Basis Exclusive. During the inital run-in hours, drastic improvement in dynamics, pace, musicality is observed. whest’s upgrade power cord is on the way and would push the LP performance even further. In our experience, due to the high quality, regulated power stage in-built in all whest.30 series phono stages, they would sound best drawing power directly from the wall.

VPI 16.5 rcm was replaced by Clearaudio Double Smart Matrix. In the owner’s words, the Double Smart Matrix cleans quicker and more effectively than the old machine.
Recent acquisition includes these 2 plastic containers (from Giant supermart) to keep owner’s growing LP collection. The investment of a Double Smart Matrix record cleaneris certainly worth it!
