mint Facts and Fancies

Where Is Mint from?
Like many hi-fi products, Mint was created by a hobbyist (Yip from HK). He was dissatisfied with the cleaning result using the past/current crop of LP cleaning solutions. You see, Yip is a true classical fan and demands that he hears the quietest passages and dynamic crescendo of his beloved symphonies and as such, he spent much of his free time researching and testing. In fact, Mint was born more than 10 years ago and it was through encouragement from his close circle of Mint users that he has since commercialized it.

What does Mint contain? Is Mint safe to use on my precious LPs?
We do not know what is inside but we certainly know what is not inside Mint. There is no alcohol, no coloring, no odour and it leaves no residue in your vinyl after wash.

Mint LP Solution must have been used on at least 100,000 LPs since its launched. Mint is 100% safe and that is a fact, not fancy.

According to the official Mint site, you need to do one final round using distilled water. If Mint leaves no residue, why is this necessary?
This is necessary if you demand the best out of each clean. There is a positive difference using distilled water for one final wash (round) before play. This is regardless whether you are using Mint or not. In other words, this is a cleaning tip (tweak) and not a requirement in using Mint.

What has Mint compared against?
Mint
has been compared favourably by many users with big brands, like VPI, Record Research, Vinyl-Enzyme and American Traders. We encourage you to A/B Mint against your current brand. We are confident that you will hear the Mint difference!

Why Mint is not available in concentrated form?
Mint
’s is presented to you in premixed form for audiophile’s convenience. This also ensures you receive it fresh while keeping quality consistent

What is the simplest and fastest way to test if Mint is better?
The best way is to test it with a record whose side A and B are identical or having the same track. This is commonly found in many 12” single. Use your existing solution to clean side A and use Mint on the other. The difference should be easy to tell. Mint is smoother, quieter and removes more ticks and pops.

What are the other Mint product offering?
Besides the Mint LP solution and the ingenious Mint stripes, there is also the well designed Mint brush (in 2 sizes) and Best Tractor (cartridge alignment tool).
