It is a fact that the hi-fi cable industry has caused a lot of confusion and suspicion of ‘cable myths’ over the years by the marketing hype, average performance but hefty claims. These cables often dressed up to look like ‘audio jewellery’ and marketed as the next big thing to enhance your listening experience based on some half grasped idea of science. It is also a fact that many hi-fi manufacturers do not have a specialist cable designer with the full background needed to optimally design high performance cables for audio.
Studio Connections is different. This audio cable maker from London is formed by a team with in-depth knowledge of electronics that worked down to materials level. Equipping 15 years of hands-on working with cable manufacturing plants for all sorts of applications (space, marine, pro audio) and the privilege of 30 years working in professional audio at the world’s most prestigious studios (e.g. Abbey Road Studio) and venues, and in domestic audio.
Since our launch of the Studio Connections (UK) high-end range of speaker cable called Platinum, we are very encouraged by the result and all-round very positive feedback from our users. Although not exactly inexpensive, this speaker cable is replacing some of the competition’s top range models. We receive user’s feedback such as “... surprisingly good”, “breathes life into my speakers”, “it upsized my system” etc.
Each Platinum pair of cables takes about one week to prepare, build and test. Finally, upon completion, the designer himself, Michael Whiteside, precisely tests each and every cable and its electrical measurements are recorded on a certificate of authenticity that accompanies the cable.
